Client/Server Web Architecture

Dimensional Insight offers its full range of client access interfaces via the Internet or Intranet. All of the interfaces, whether they are browser-based, or desktop initiated applications, are connected to one unified server. This architecture offers a much simpler approach, and reduces the amount of support required by IS/IT.

Data Models can be accessed in many ways including the Web or LAN. Full functionality is provided via the web without limitations on data size or features available. Users use ProDiver, WebDiver or the DivePort (portal) to access the Data Models and perform their desired analysis. Additionally, Dimensional Insight offers Broadcast, an email-based push technology that automatically sends Diver views to users based on the refresh of the Data Models.

We have designed our interfaces to meet the broad range of needs that different types of users have:

  • DivePort, DI's portal server product, provides users with a powerful information delivery platform for creating customized applications, and is fully integrated with the underlying information sources. IT administrators can provide users with tailored views of key performance indicators, or any other metrics, presented in a personalized, web-based point of entry. Data analysis capabilities within the portal allow users to manage by exception, stay informed with alerts, and dive into the underlying details to find the root cause of conditions.
  • ProDiver is a desktop application that offers our full range of data analysis, reporting, application templates and power-user functionality. This application can be accessed via the Internet and provides the full power of Dimensional Insight's analytical and reporting capabilities in an intuitive interface.
  • WebDiver is a Java implementation of ProDiver, which enables remote and browser-based users to access the same data and information. WebDiver uses the same basic interface as ProDiver, so users accustomed to one product may switch to the other with ease. Because WebDiver is a Java applet served via the Web, it does not require constant maintenance of client machines. It also allows a user of non-Windows operating systems to access the power of ProDiver's analysis engine.
