Central Vermont Medical Center Integrates MEDITECHTM Health Information System Data with Business Intelligence PortalBURLINGTON, MA, November 21, 2006 - Dimensional Insight (DI) announced today that Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) of Berlin, Vermont has brought together data from various MEDITECHTM Health Information System modules and integrated it with DivePort, DI's business intelligence portal. DivePort is a component of Dimensional Insight's business intelligence solution for healthcare providers - The Diver SolutionTM, and will allow CVMC to enhance information sharing and analysis of outcomes, utilization, productivity, and financials by giving all organizational users (from executive management to physicians) one point of access for all their reporting and analysis needs. "MEDITECH is a great data repository, but it is difficult to get data out of it, especially patient-level detail data. We wanted a solution that would allow us to access this information so we could easily analyze factors such as readmissions, turnover time, admission time of day, and staffing," explains Michelle Heezen, CVMC's Budget and Reporting Manager. "We selected Dimensional Insight over competing tools because the solution was extremely flexible, user-friendly, and the organization had a history of successful implementations at other MEDITECH facilities. Within half-a-day we had a proof-of-concept that showed our data in their system. This was a major selling point; we knew we could be successful with this product." Prior to implementation, Central Vermont Medical Center participated in Dimensional Insight's Proof-of-Concept program, which provides healthcare organizations with the opportunity to work with DI to build a free prototype. "Our Proof-of-Concept program is unique to the industry. We offer healthcare organizations the ability to see their own data in our solution in just a few days. Not many other vendors can live up to that claim," states Ed O'Brien, Director of Healthcare at Dimensional Insight. "We have a vast amount of healthcare expertise from which to draw. This enables us to eliminate lengthy implementations and often have a solution up-and-running in less than thirty days. Initial implementations can be as short as three days." In the future, CVMC will enhance DivePort by bringing in additional data elements. "We are going to pull our physician practice data into DivePort so our physicians can log-in to the system and view their utilization and compare it to their utilization last week or last month," says Heezen. "In addition, we are also going to pull data from our nursing facility into the system so that we can have a centralized view of all of our operations. Dimensional Insight is going to give our organization the flexibility needed to get questions answered. Our users will be able to see summarized information, but also access all the detail behind it, right down to the patient or chart level."
