Accelerated Diver This accelerated class is intended to introduce the user to the
features and functionality of Diver. It includes the essential elements of our Diver Basics and Diver Intermediate courses. Some topics are presented in limited detail.
Topics Covered:
- Working in Diver (tabulars, reports, charts),
- Analysis (focus,group, find, column manipulation, cascading, QuickViews),
- Saving work (Markers, DivePlans, DiveBooks),
- Creating columns (Named Groups, and Period Comparisons, dimcount)
Pre-Requisites:
Students should be familiar with the Windows platform. Experience with Excel or similar products is a plus.
Who Should Attend:
This lecture/lab class is designed specifically for new users,
but users should be comfortable in a fast-paced technology
environment.
Advanced Integrator Advanced Integrator is an in-depth course for the experienced IS professional or individual responsible for preparing the data used for the creation and maintenance of the Models used by Diver. Workshops lead the student through advanced usages of data integration.
Topics Covered:
Advanced Integration functions including Parameters, Execute and Exec-Rows, Persistent Calculations, Squash, Rotate, and Expand.
Pre-Requisites:
Students are expected to have taken Data Integration Intermediate, or have six months experience of data integration script development.
Who Should Attend:
This lecture/lab class is designed specifically for the IS professional as well as those individuals that are responsible for the creation and maintenance of data.
Report Writer Report Writer is a workshop-based course designed for the power-user interested in learning how to go beyond the default Report View. This course will give users an opportunity to unlock several different types of reports and use Diver's advanced reporting features with ease. (Please note: This class does not include Report Palette)
Topics will include exception coloring with ranges, adding new summaries to existing reports, understanding breaklevels, deleting and adding items to reports, using report templates, and customization options, such as adding links and graphics.
Pre-Requisites:
Students are expected to have taken Diver Intermediate.
Who Should Attend:
This lecture/lab class is designed specifically for users that have had some experience using data analysis tools.
DIAL/Analyst This course is designed for IS Professionals who need to automate the processing, analysis, and distribution of information contained in Dimensional Insight Models. The course will cover how these applications leverage information from a DiveLine installation to remote users. Automated production
of reports in PDF, HTML, and image formats is also covered.

Pre-Requisites:
Students are expected to be experienced Diver Power Users. Experience with common programminglanguages would be helpful.
Who Should Attend:
This lecture/lab class is designed specifically for the IS professional who will be involved in the design and maintenance of Analyst and Broadcast.
Diver 6.0 Features Overview Lab This three hour session is designed for users who want an interactive overview of the Diver 6.0 version. The course builds from the Diver 6.0 Changes document by presenting all the functionality of Diver with hands-on examples.

Anyone looking to explore the changes and enhanced functionality of Diver 6.0.
DiveLine Administration DiveLine Administration is a required course for the IS person or individuals responsible for the installation and maintenance of the client-server architecture. This course teaches the student the considerations that must be taken into account prior to installing client-server architecture in a Microsoft Windows environment. Also covered will be an introduction to broadcasting and scheduling.
Topics Covered:
- Available Clients
- Security Capabilities (controlling access, user authentication, user groups)
- Installation (platforms, files/Models, client/server pre-requisites, verification)
- Configuration (Tabs: general, users, groups, aliases, ACL)
- Performance Considerations
Pre-Requisites:
Students are expected to be able to perform System Administration tasks on their production environment(s) and be familiar with MS Windows.
Who Should Attend:
This lecture/lab class is designed specifically for the IS professional who will be involved in the design and maintenance of the server, as well as those individuals that are responsible for the creation and maintenance of data.
DivePort Administration DivePort Administration is a core course in the DI training series for IS/IT professionals. This course teaches important skills and terminology, reinforced with hands-on-labs. Users will learn the basics of portal technology, how to install and configure DivePort, implement portal security, and create pages that are customized for user's needs.
Who Should Attend
This lecture/lab class is designed for the IS professional who will be involved in the design and maintenance of DivePort. Individuals responsible for creating and distributing Markers will also find this course valuable.
Prerequisites
Students are required to have experience creating and maintaining Diver Markers. Students should take DI's Client/Server Administration course (DiveLine) and are expected to be able to perform System Administration tasks within their production environment.
Diver Advanced This course delivers all of the advanced features of the Diver interface including TimeSeries, creating QuickViews and creation of DiveBooks. This course is intended for the power-user.

- Time Series (Model structure, Dimension options, date roll-up)
- QuickViews (general, dependency, and values settings, editing window information)
- DivePlans (advanced calculations, exception reporting, required dimensions, saving Markers as external DivePlans)

- Overview of Report Palette functionality (when to use, basic syntax)

Students are expected to be familiar with Builder and Diver.
Who Should Attend:
This course is intended for experienced designers and administrators.
Report Palette This course introduces a powerful feature of Diver, the Report Palette. Report Palettes (ad-hoc report grids) are available to hold all links, which can point to multiple Models. Report Palettes can display text, data references, calculations, or graphics all on one page.
This course is designed for experienced Diver designers.
Topics Covered:
- Getting Started and the Report Palette Toolbar
- Report Palette Items (cell, text, and graphics)
- Report Macros
- Reporter Reference Item
Pre-Requisites:
Students are expected to have taken Diver Intermediate.
Experience with Access, Excel macros or common programming languages is helpful.
Who Should Attend:
This course is intended for Diver Developers and experienced Power Users that need to create reports that utilize information from a number of different Models.
Using Diver Graphics This full day course is designed for Diver users who want a deeper understanding of the many graphical options available. The course builds from the Graphing Overview presented at last year's User Group Conference. It presents all the functionality of Diver's powerful graphing engine, including lab time build and explore a graphing applaication.
